Whew, been a few days, work has been a little silly again this week, so where you cats want to start?  I gots an Arsenal gumbo for ya again, players possibly going out, players possibly coming in, new coach talk, youngins signing contracts, Fitness Armageddon, a moment of Fus Ro Dah!, and as always the meandering, sometimes incoherent ramblings of yours truly.

I guess we’ll start with transfer talk since that’s what makes all the people go caaaaaaaarazy.  From a few days ago, Arséne Wenger, doing a cameo as Captain Obvious, reiterated that indeed a trio of players will be leaving.  There’s no surprise names on there except the one that’s been getting errabody’s knickers in a knot (pssst! Hint: Robin van Persie).  But, yeah, Niklas Bendter, Chu/Ju-Young Park & Sébastian Squillaci were named as the players that “…will be on their way to go somewhere.”

Funny enough, that’s vague enough that the somewhere could be Arsenal, amirite?  Most likely not & the only real stumbling blocks to a move for somebody like Bendtner, who had a very good Euros tournament, would be his wage demands.  Strangely enough, Bendtner has been linked with Spartak Moscow recently but you would think The Greatest Striker Who Ever Lived (HT: Arseblog) would be more keen on a place like Galatasaray or Spain who he’s been linked with.  Then again, money grubbers might be keen on moves to Russia as their league is awash with oil baron money as well.  Just older oil baron money that is like “middle class” these days, compared to the oil sheiks & erm…. Roman Abramodick.

Elsewhere, Manuel Almunia has finally signed a contract for Watford, whom he’d be training with.  I normally don’t like to bash players but in Almunia’s case it’s definitely a case of “good riddance” for me.  I was never really a fan of his & despite his penalty heroics & shot stopping capabilities, he was often an absolutely horrible decision maker & his positioning was dreadful at times.  Other than that, good luck, Manuel!

Owen Coyle of Bolton Wanderers has upped interest in another player of ours, Benik Afobe, whom he wants on loan.  That makes two Arsenal younger players along with Ryo, that Coyle wants on loan & it seems we’re building a decent relationship with Coyle & Bolton.  I’d rather them like this than being a bogey side which they were for us from around 2006-09 when Fat Sam was the manager there.

Another possible loanee is Daniel Boateng.  Who?  Daniel Boateng.  Spent some time on loan at Swindon last year with referee assault expert, Paolo Di Canio.  Get stuck in, Paolo!

As for players coming in, there’s no further word on the Santi Cazorla situation, other than the proposed sale of the club supposedly won’t hinder the sale, but a supposed deadline to sort it out for today having passed.  Yeah, forgive me if I didn’t hold my breathe on that especially with  in the works.  Actual deadlines aside, club set transfer deadlines are about as hard as bowl of jello… that hasn’t cooled properly & is still fairly liquid.  Anyway, the Sky article says it won’t hinder the sale but with new owners who knows what they’ll do?  Keep a great player or sell him, take the money & start a new regime with a clean slate?  Hopefully, it’s the latter.

We’re also apparently in for a young left back from Southampton named Luke Shaw.  I can’t say I know anything about him as the majority of my knowledge of Southampton resides in knowing that Lucy Pinder & her ample bosom is a supporter of theirs.  Sign that for £20 million!

We’re also set to make another bid for Caen’s M’baye Niang despite Man Citeh plagiarizing our scouting as they are wont to do.  If it takes upwards of €10 million to sign a 17-year old that will likely not even get a game this season, I might go to Manchester & punch Liam Gallagher in the face myself.  Your club skewing the transfer market more than Cuntski  isn’t enough?  You now have to skew the market for young players too? “Where were you while we were getting high?”  Preparing your brass knuckle sandwich, Liam, that’s where.

Ok, moving on before I get too excited over Lucy’s bosom & Liam’s pulpy face, the reserves had a friendly this past Saturday against Stevenage which wa splayed out to a nil-nil draw.  Nothing much notable to say other than Isaac Hayden & Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill made their reserves debut.  Oh & former Gunners Luke Freeman & James Dunne turned out for Stevenage.

Also playing in that game was Serge Gnabry who also just signed professional terms with the club.  Gnabry is a youngster who is apparently very highly regarded at the club following his move from VFB Stuttgart last year.

Wow! What exciting stuff!  Anyway, for final shits & giggles, you can check out an article of Szcezsny giving props to new #2, Steve Bould, for being a coach who is the shit (of shits & giggles) & who yells at the players a good bit.  Good.  Now put it into action & sort out the backline, Szcz.

So Bould is the shit as the kidz say & you might ask “where is the giggles then?”  Well, the giggles come from Chu/Ju-Young Parks’ Fus Ro Dah! implementation in the Olympics against some Swiss player who later got booted from the games for a racist tweet.  Park is Dragonborn & he didn’t feature last year? Sort it out, Wenger!
